Senior Fire Sprinkler CAD Designer

Pune, India. Full-time. Build a career in fire protection engineering with a global design team.

We are looking for an experienced designer to join our engineering team supporting fire protection design projects across commercial, industrial, healthcare, residential and specialized facilities. You will lay out fire sprinkler systems from architectural and engineering drawings and prepare accurate shop drawings and coordinated layouts that meet NFPA standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Lay out fire sprinkler systems from architectural, structural and MEP drawings (AutoCAD, AutoSPRINK, SprinkCAD, HydraCAD or equivalent).
  • Develop piping layouts, equipment rooms, risers, seismic bracing and hangers.
  • Prepare shop, fabrication and installation drawings and construction documentation.
  • Coordinate layouts with architectural, structural, HVAC, plumbing and electrical disciplines to resolve clashes.
  • Make sure designs comply with NFPA standards and client or project specifications.
  • Perform quality reviews and mentor junior CAD designers.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities to meet delivery milestones.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical, civil or a related engineering field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in AutoCAD drafting and engineering design.
  • Expert AutoCAD proficiency, producing accurate, high-quality drawings independently.
  • Strong understanding of MEP drawings and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Excellent knowledge of drafting standards, layering, dimensioning and detailing.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Comfortable working with U.S.-based teams, including overlapping evening hours.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with AutoSPRINK, HydraCAD, SprinkCAD or equivalent CAD/MEP platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, particularly NFPA 13.
  • Experience preparing shop drawings, equipment layouts and material take-offs (BOM).
  • Experience supporting U.S.-based engineering or construction projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM and Revit workflows.
